AC2

Advancing Cancer Survivorship through partnership between Australia and Greater China

A project led by the Caring Futures Institute (CFI) at Flinders University and our partners (i.e., researchers, clinicians, patient advocates) from across Australia and Greater China.

What is AC2?

Given recent advances in cancer treatment, there is an urgent need to adapt and innovate healthcare provision to address the many unmet and long-term care needs of the rapidly increasing number of people living with and beyond cancer. Chinese culture and beliefs can influence cancer care in various aspects. AC2 will build understanding and connections to improve outcomes for Chinese cancer survivors.
Cancer survivorship is about living with and beyond cancer. It begins at diagnosis and includes the physical, emotional, and social challenges faced during and after treatment. Survivors may deal with lasting effects of treatment and worry about cancer coming back. Support from healthcare professionals, family, and friends is essential in helping survivors lead fulfilling lives. Understanding and addressing these challenges is key to improving the quality of life for those who have faced cancer.
